Landscaping is a Year-Round Business

Winter in the US doesn’t exactly inspire most people to get outside and work in their yards. Even in the southern states, the growing season slows down during the winter months. Most people confine their winter yard work to putting out a few light-up decorations around Christmas and perhaps filling a bird feeder or two. For professional landscapers, there’s no such thing as a slow season.

There’s Snow Place Like Home

If you check out the Facebook page of Yardley Landscaping of Bucks County, PA, you’ll notice that owner Brendan Wetzel has posted about snow removal. Some people don’t realize that many landscaping companies offer that as a service you can contract. Check out the websites and Facebook pages of local businesses in your own area to see who’s still offering snow removal contracts. Each landscaping company can only handle so many customers for that service depending on how many people they employ. If you have an indoor, wood-burning fireplace or even an outdoor fire-pit you like to utilize year-round, you may also ask if your local landscaper has cut firewood available. Many do. Lastly, many landscapers take the time during the winter to help clients plan upgrades and new projects to improve their property.

Spring Forward!

Obviously, spring is the time of year when a lot of the projects in your yard will start. There’s so much to do in spring. Clearing out anything dead from previous seasons, getting your planting spaces ready, putting in new flora, mowing, fertilizing and aerating your lawn are just some of the things you need to tackle. You can easily get buried by all there is to do, especially if you aren’t sure how to do all these things. Don’t forget that you can hire a local landscaping company to get your spring yard prep work done for you, even if you don’t contract them to work for you beyond that.

In the Summertime

Summer means maintenance. Keeping up with your mowing, weeding those flower beds, pruning back anything that’s died back since spring and watering, watering, watering all take a lot of time. Don’t forget that many of us like to spend time out in our own yards during the summer months, so we might even have projects to tackle that will make our outdoor living spaces more family-friendly or better suited to our entertaining needs. Professional landscapers can take care of both your regular chores and helping you turn your spaces into the yard of your dreams.

Fall Back

Autumn can be confusing to a homeowner. Sometimes the summer weather tends to linger and you’re just not sure if you should be buying mums and grabbing a candy apple or hitting the beach and mowing the lawn – again. Your professional landscaper can help you turn your home’s exterior from focusing on sun and fun to putting the garden to bed for the year and turning an eye towards Halloween. Fall can also be a time to tackle those big projects. For one, it’s usually not as wet as spring, nor are you using your yard as much as you do during the summertime.

With the things to do in every season, a professional landscaper’s life is never dull.
