Top 7 Alkalizing Foods to include in your diet
What’s all this talk about Alkalizing and Alkalizing Foods? There are serious conditions that can occur to the body when it is in a state of acidic. Yeast and bacteria can thrive in your digestive tract. Cancer cells thrive as well. But when the body is in an Alkalizing state these serious issues can all but be removed.
Eating foods that are Alkalizing is a great natural way to reverse the signs of your body being acidic. Diets consisting of highly alkaline foods which include fresh vegetables, fruits and unprocessed plant-based sources of protein, resulting in a more alkaline urine pH level, which helps protect healthy cells and balance essential mineral levels.
Top 7 Alkalizing Foods
#1 Lemons – Lemons are one of the most alkalizing foods. I start my morning off with a tall glass of warm Lemon, Cayenne, Ginger detox water. This gets the inners moving. 🙂
#2 Leafy Greens – These are the big boys! Swiss Chard, Kale, turnip greens, and spinach are great Alkalizing Foods. Prepare a big salad and you are good to go!
#3 Cucumbers and Celery – These are Alkalizing foods that we all have in the fridge. They aid in digestion and are practically calorie-free.
#4 Root Vegetables – Rutabaga, radishes, beets, horseradish, carrots, and turnips are another group of Alkalizing Foods.
Not a big salad eater? Make some Skinny Baked Spinach Chips
#5 – Garlic – Another Alkalizing Food that you probably have in the fridge. Garlic is straight up all around good for you as it is.
#6 – Cruciferous Vegetables – Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower are all highly Alkalizing Foods. These foods neutralize acids and help with digestion. Eat them raw, with some dip or add them to a salad.
#7 – Avocados one of my favorite Foods. Avocados have those good fats that we want in our diet. Lots of good amino acids and essential vitamins.

I never knew there was a good “health” reason to have lemon in your water, I always just assumed people did it to make the water taste better!

Me too, for years. My husband started getting really interested in Alkalizing the water we drink when we were on the farm. That is when we started researching Alkalizing foods, love the lemon water 🙂

Lemon surprises me, because it is used as an acid in cooking. I must be pretty alkalized. These are a lot of my fave foods.

When your body is acidic it does not function inside the way it should. Which can breed disease and sickness, not to get technical. When it is Alkaline your body thrives disease can not live here. So when toxins are removed your body can flush fat, gain muscle, beautify your skin and give us energy. 🙂

I didn’t realize until talking to my mom about this how important including alkalizing foods in our diets was. It is incredible how we can balance our pH through our diet to improve our overall health. Our bodies are wonderful things.
