Dr. Oz Recommended Fatigue Fighter Forbidden Rice
Suffer from Fatigue? ย Feel tired in the middle of the day?ย Dr. Oz reveals his favorite all-natural fatigue-fighter: Forbidden Rice! Great at any meal, learn why cooking with this ancient grain is the secret to all-day energy.
Legend has it that black rice referred to as the ‘Longevity Rice’ was reserved for the emperors of China. Black Rice has a natural source of antioxidants called anthocyanins – purple pigments found in blueberries and acai BUT without the sugar. It is easy to prepare just like any other rice. Cooks in only 30 minutes. Eat in the morning topped with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. Great in salads, stuffing vegetables and rolled in a lettuce leaf.
We are always looking for new superfoods to add to my diet. ย Since I sit in front of the computer for at least 8 hours a day I can get pretty tired and tense. ย I do a lot of detail work that can get a bit stressful. ย Eating the right foods throughout the day is really important. ย I reach for foods that will give me energy. ย When I watched the Dr. Oz show and his introduction to “Black Rice” I had my husband run out to Whole Foods and pick some up ๐

I’ve never heard of Forbidden rice either. I don’t think I have ever wrapped anything in lettuce. Cabbage yes, but not lettuce. It looks tasty!

Hmm, we’ll have to try this. In going gluten-free in my house, white rice can get kind of boring to eat.

I’ve never even seen this before no less heard of it. Does it have a firmer texture like brown rice and a nuttier flavor too?

I’ve never heard of Forbidden Rice before. My mom and brother are always looking for good ways to add whole grains to their diets that have low sugar content. I like that this has the added antioxidant benefits of berries because of the dark color. I’ll be trying this once I find some Forbidden rice.

How was the taste? Did it taste different from white rice? Jasmine rice? I would like to ,know what you thought of it! Did you feel like it gave you increased energy? I like lettuce wraps, so I am all for it, but I want to know if it provides the desired results.
adecheine
Tasted more like Wild Rice, I eat it about three times a week in the middle of the day and do not feel sluggish. It is 100% better for you than white rice which I never eat ๐
