Cheez-it Breaded Chicken Taco’s
I am what you call a manly man. I confess, I am addicted to sports, I could be the perfect sitcom guy, the guy that watches ball but does what his wife ask’s him to do. I love college basketball, well any basketball for that matter. With that comes party recipes. My wife and I like a baked snack that is a bit light. We decided to drive up to Naples and hit Target for our party food. What’s a basketball game without munchies?
My wife and I have been eating Cheez-its for as long as we can remember. They have the perfect amount of crunch and come in a nice variety of flavors. We spotted the Cheez-It Grooves and thought, this would be perfect for dipping into a homemade salsa. We picked up the Cheddar Ranch and White Cheddar Cheez-It Grooves for our platter.
We also picked up the traditional Cheez-It crackers to use as a breading for our chicken we would grill for chicken tacos. The breading has an Asian twist to it with the spices I chose. I tossed all into the blender and had a perfect consistency.
I made a simple egg wash using Almond Milk and eggs.
I tossed the chicken breast pieces into the egg wash and then into the Cheez-It mixture for the breading.
I sprayed down the grill and made sure it was plenty hot to get a good sear on the chicken pieces.
Of course grill marks are important, I then turned the grill down so the chicken crust would not burn.
Serve the Cheez-It crusted chicken tacos with homemade salsa and the Cheez-It Grooves.
This is the perfect basketball game food that your guests will enjoy.
I found the Cheez-It Grooves on the top shelf of the cracker aisle at my local Target.
Cheez-It is hosting the Most Valuable Cheese Contest that is taking place from Feb – April 2015. Users can vote on their favorite flavors/varieties from six popular Cheez-It flavors and play games for a chance to win $10,000.
If you’re a Cartwheel shopper, Cheez-Its are on sale for 3/$8 at Target. You can use Target’s Cartwheel app to stack your savings with an additional 35% off of the sale price when you buy 3 varieties of Cheez-Its.
