Dr. Oz’s Detox Plan To Flush Fat and Lose Belly Fat. This recipe is a protein-packed cabbage salad made of chicken breast, red cabbage, olive oil and pumpkin seeds. I did throw in cucumbers as well. Dr. Oz said this salad will remove fat toxins and promote weight loss. Red cabbage is rich in fiber (so it makes you feel full) and is a natural diuretic. This salad is part of our detox diet. We are still working on ridding our bodies from our weekend overindulgences. To lose weight after 40, you need to understand that imbalanced hormones and chemicals have a huge impact on our weight and our health. Making foods with specific ingredients to help the body is all about educating ourselves. I am not a certified anything, just a women in her 40’s that are making changes for my husband and me that are working. A cabbage salad dinner is high in insoluble fiber, which can help eliminate waste and keep bowel movements regular.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups purple cabbage
  • 1 chicken breast cooked
  • 1 oz pumpkin seeds
  • 1 orange
  • 1 Cucumber This is not part of Dr. Oz recipe
  • 3 tsp olive oil
Instructions
  1. Chop chicken into strips or small pieces.
  2. Peel and Cut up the orange into bite size pieces
  3. Cut up the cucumber
  4. Mix all together

The cucumber is not in Dr. Oz's original recipe, this was added in.
You could use canned low sodium chicken in a pinch.

    I don't know why I've never considered putting pumpkin seeds on salads before! I've always used sunflower seeds, and I love pumpkin seeds, so it makes sense to swap them out :)
