We get so excited for the New Year and jumping back into a healthier mode. With the holidays, we have done a lot of entertaining and a lot of late nights. One thing that is very important to us is starting the day off with exercise and a high protein breakfast. A favorite shortcut of ours is MorningStar Farms® which has been a staple in our home. They are not just for vegetarians which we are not. They are great for everyday people that are looking for a high protein alternative to meat.

We have been buying the MorningStar Farms® Original Sausage Patties Value Pack for the convenience of a quick high protein breakfast. After a workout on the beach in the morning, I am hustling to get out the door so convenience is important. We love the variety of meatless foods MorningStar Farms® offers our healthy lifestyle. Plus we feel great after eating our dish. They have so many options to choose from which are flavorful, versatile, and SO easy to prepare. Meals that are quick, easy, and still help me lead a healthier lifestyle are very important to me. The journey to better health is the road my wife and I are on in 2018.

Our healthier breakfast is very high in protein and so tasty! We use the MorningStar Farms® Original Sausage Patties which come in a Value Pack. We scramble up eggs during our Sunday meal prep and have our vegetables all cut up so we simply have to heat up our patties and then wrap them in a low carb tortilla. We are practicing a Keto diet so this meal is perfect. A protein based breakfast in under 10 minutes. My wife also likes the MorningStar Farms® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches because she just pops them in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and she has her high protein breakfast or lunch.

Who doesn’t like breakfast burritos? These sausage patties crumble perfectly! They cook up so easily in a minute and a half. MorningStar Farms® veggie sausage with plant protein power is the better for you way to start your morning off right. Taste It To Believe It!

With the New Year, we are doubling up our workout routine. HIIT in the AM and then 20 minutes of aerobic at night. Working out to build muscle requires lots of protein, that is why we depend on MorningStar Farms®. We can easily substitute the veggie for meat in any of our meals.

There is something about waking up and exercising on the beach when the sun rises. It is such a great way to make for a productive day! Working out brings me energy during the day when I need it. I am so excited for the New Year and making harder goals for myself physically!

Tutorial HIIT AM Workout

1. Surfer Get Ups

Begin on the ground in a low plank position with your hands directly under your shoulders and your belly touching the sand. Push up from the ground and jump right into a squatting position with the right leg in front of the left, as if you’re balancing on a surfboard.

2. Lateral Plank

Get into a plank position with your hands directly under your shoulders. Take two steps to the right while maintaining a plank, and do a push-up. Repeat the move by moving back to the left. Perform another push-up and repeat.

3. Lunge Jumps

With the right leg in front of the left, get into a lunge position so your knees are both at 90-degree angles. Use your core and quads to jump straight up, switching your legs in mid-air. Land with your left leg forward, then repeat.

4. Twisting Mountain Climbers

Start in a plank position, then bring one knee to your opposite elbow. Quickly switch legs and twist the opposite knee to opposite elbow.

MorningStar Farms has a nice selection of breakfast foods. I always grab a few when we visit Walmart. I have yet to make a breakfast burrito but, after seeing your post I think I’ll create a few for our New Years breakfast. I also need to implement some of these workout routines.

Saving this for my husband. He loves getting those frozen breakfast burritos to take to work for breakfast I keep telling him how terrible they are for him. I am going to try this option and see what he thinks. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I’m a big fan of MorningStar’s products! I used to eat their veggie burgers religiously when I was in college – quick and easy to make. Good for you for getting fit, too.

I had no idea that Morning Star made veggie sausage. We’re trying to eat healthier (even before the New Year starts). All these breakfast alternatives look really delicious. Thanks for the exercise tips too!

I love a good breakfast burrito! They somehow haven’t made it to Denmark yet, and neither has vegetarian sausage, so things are a bit limited for my on the DIY breakfast burrito front. More meat substitutes are popping up in our grocery stores here, and I’d love to see MorningStar Farms among them. MorningStar Farms was one of my favorite brands when I lived in the States.

Great workout tips! Our family enjoys having breakfast burritos, but I like that this is a healthier version. Thanks for sharing!
