Suffer from Fatigue? Feel tired in the middle of the day? Dr. Oz reveals his favorite all-natural fatigue-fighter: Forbidden Rice! Great at any meal, learn why cooking with this ancient grain is the secret to all-day energy.
Legend has it that black rice referred to as the ‘Longevity Rice’ was reserved for the emperors of China. Black Rice has a natural source of antioxidants called anthocyanins – purple pigments found in blueberries and acai BUT without the sugar. It is easy to prepare just like any other rice. Cooks in only 30 minutes. Eat in the morning topped with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. Great in salads, stuffing vegetables and rolled in a lettuce leaf.
We are always looking for new superfoods to add to my diet. Since I sit in front of the computer for at least 8 hours a day I can get pretty tired and tense. I do a lot of detail work that can get a bit stressful. Eating the right foods throughout the day is really important. I reach for foods that will give me energy. When I watched the Dr. Oz show and his introduction to “Black Rice” I had my husband run out to Whole Foods and pick some up 🙂
